High Fructose Gel – fast and long-lasting energy
226ERS High Fructose Gel is an energy gel formulated with maltodextrin and fructose in a 10:8 ratio, providing 30 grams of carbohydrates per gel.
226ERS High Fructose Energy Gel carries the Cologne List certification, the world’s largest doping prevention platform for nutritional supplements. The Cologne List only includes products that have been thoroughly tested, with detailed analyses and label checks to ensure that manufacturers do not use substances banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Each 226ERS High Fructose Gel provides 30 g of carbohydrates and 140 mg of sodium, sourced from maltodextrin and fructose in a 10:8 ratio. The product is vegan, gluten-free, and available in three flavours. You can also choose the 44 gram gel with 30 grams of carbohydrates and 140 mg of sodium.
This formula, based on "multiple transportable carbohydrates," has been shown by research that using carbohydrates absorbed through different intestinal transporters during prolonged exercise is the only way to increase the assimilation and oxidation rate of exogenous carbohydrates up to 60 g/hour.
Directions for use: Maximum 2 units per 60 minutes during training or racing, with approximately 300 ml of water.
Nutrient explanation:
Maltodextrin: Absorbed in the small intestine via the SGLT-1 transporter, it is converted into glucose and provides rapid energy to the cells due to its high glycaemic index, resulting in a fast rise in blood sugar levels and immediate energy release. Its high molecular weight and low osmolality promote rapid gastric emptying, which improves digestion and reduces gastrointestinal side effects.
Fructose: Absorbed in the small intestine by GLUT5 transporters, different from the transporters for other carbohydrates. The absorbed fructose is transported from the intestines to the liver via GLUT2 transporters, where it replenishes liver glycogen stores depleted during intensive exercise.
Fructose provides gradual absorption with a steady and progressive energy release. The combination of maltodextrin and fructose makes it possible to digest and assimilate large amounts of carbohydrates per hour, reducing the risk of stomach issues.
